I first heard about this book when a group I’m in chose to do a devotional study based off of the book. The devotional was wonderful and two of us decided to read the book.
When I started the book, I was anticipating it would be a book about women in the Bible. Mary, Esther, Ruth, etc. I was completely wrong. The stories in the book are about real, modern day women who are making a massive impact in their communities just by saying yes to things they felt called to do. There are stories about women who started organizations to help educate parents of children with Downs Syndrome, women who opened orphanages, women who opened a home for teen mothers. All of these women who took something the felt passionate about and made the choice to take it further.
Listening to One Woman Can Change the World is awe inspiring. It feels almost magical listening to the stories of how things lined up perfectly, how funding came through when they needed it most, how God laid something on their hearts, and helped them make it into something bigger than they ever dreamed. If you need a book that will make you feel like you can do anything, this is a really good choice!
One Woman Can Change the World was an absolute joy to listen to. It is uplifting and beautifully written. On a personal note, with all of the political unrest, and general feeling of divide in the world, it was refreshing to have a reminder of what is good in the world, and the good things that are being done with love to help others. I think most of us could probably use that kind of reminder once in a while. Love always wins.
Grab your copy of this book, and get ready to feel encouraged and energized. You may occasionally need a tissue or two. But in general, this is a book of joy and the story of faith, hope and love overcoming all.
