Black Out

Lisa Unger

Synopsis: Annie appears to have the perfect life. But she has a dark past that she has spent years trying to keep hidden. When the secrets of her past come back to haunt her, Annie must confront her ghosts, and piece together patchy memories in order to protect those she loves the most.

Oh. My. Gosh. This. Book. I could not put it down! This was a stay-up-way-past-bedtime, avoid-all-responsibilities, leave-me-alone-upon-penalty-of-death kind of book!

This is a hard one to say too much about without giving away spoilers, but I’m going to do my best.

Black Out is a book that requires you to pay attention (This will not be a problem). When I first started reading, I was slightly frustrated with it because it jumps constantly between the past, present, and future. Thankfully, Unger does a great job cluing you in to where you are at, and it didn’t take too long before I was flowing easily with the story.

Black Out is one the best psychological suspense/thrillers I have read. It keeps you on your toes the whole time, never really sure what’s real, what to believe, and who to trust. I was completely on edge the whole time!

I was also REALLY happy with how it ended. I really can’t say anything more than that without giving something away, but oh my goodness, I thought it ended just about perfectly!

I know this review is kind of vague on details, but trust me, when you read the book, you’ll understand I’m doing you a favor! If you like psychological suspense/thrillers, be sure to add this one to your list! This was my first novel by Lisa Unger, and it will NOT be my last!
