This is the fourth book of Kate Alexander’s I’ve read, and there’s one thing that really stands out to me. I think she just keeps getting better.
Unlocking Your Heart is less of a slow burn than the other books in the Blossom Hills series, but it has all the heart and passion I’ve come to expect. Josie’s backstory is a bit darker than the others, which added a nice extra layer of depth. There were a couple of areas I would have liked to see go a little deeper, such as the relationship between Grayson and the kids, but I understand keeping the main focus on Josie and Grayson. The story of Josie and the kids could be a novel all on its own.
I love Josie. She is a tough, no nonsense woman who isn’t afraid to speak her mind. I appreciate characters like that, probably because I’d like to be more like that. It made it that much sweeter to see how she softens with the kids and learns how to be a mother to them, and how she lets Grayson in.
A very sweet, sometimes steamy, and heartwarming love story. A perfect summer read to give you all the warm and fuzzies! Unlocking Your Heart is everything you want out of a romantic comedy! If you’ve never read a Kate Alexander novel, I suggest you change that.
