Surely they can get along long enough to enjoy a tropical vacation…Right?

I decided to pick this one up after reading so many great reviews on it, and I have to say, it DID NOT disappoint! I am a sucker for a good cheesy romcom. I read this on a beach trip with my best friend, and I probably got on her nerves laughing so much. I fell in love with this book from page one. It was entertaining all the way through, it never felt like it was too slow, or rushed.
The Unhoneymooners really was absolutely everything I want in a rivals to lovers rom com. It had some situations that were just awkward enough without being completely cringeworthy, playful banter, sweet moments, steamy moments, plenty of laugh out loud moments… just everything! I especially adored the banter between Olive and Ethan, in particular, their running game of intentionally calling each other by the wrong names.
I really don’t have any major critics. There were a couple little things (I won’t say what exactly, because it would involve spoilers) in the story that made me a little grumpy, but they were completely realistic and made sense for story and the characters, so I can’t even call it a critique! I think the only thing I would have liked to have seen, is more deep heart to hearts between Ethan and Olive. They kind of start deeper conversations a couple of times, but they still stay pretty shallow. I would have enjoyed a bit more.
The Unhoneymooners was a perfect vacation book. It was exactly the escape read I needed! As soon as I finished it, I wanted to start it again. This will definitely be one that gets read time and time again. I genuinely cannot wait to get my hands on another book by Christina Lauren.
