Looking for the perfect book to take on your beach vacation this summer? That books that will make you forget about your troubles, give you butterflies, and remember what it’s like to fall in love? Look no further than Blossom Hills.
This is the third book in the Blossom Hills series, and my third book by Kate Alexander. I can tell you this much: Kate Alexander just keeps getting better. I loved the first two books (A Taste of Sweetness and Images of Devotion) and had pretty high hopes for Enchanted by Love. I was not disappointed. It gave me absolutely everything I was hoping for. I actually feel like Alexander may have raised the bar for herself again. There was a little bit more of a mystery note to it than the others. Don’t misunderstand me, it is still a romance, and I would not classify it as romantic suspense, BUT I think if she were so inclined, it’s a genre she could write very well. But I digress.
While I firmly believe every series is best when read in the intended order, these are books that could be read out of order, while little to no confusion. While the characters are the same in each book, the focus is on one specific couple, with the others playing supporting roles. If anything from a previous book is mentioned, Alexander did a fantastic job of giving a brief explanation that doesn’t feel repetitive to those who have read previous books, and allows a new reader to quickly get up to speed.
I absolutely could not put Enchanted by Love down. It is a total emotional roller coaster. Between Kyle’s devastation at being so close to the love of his life and not being able to have her, and Ariel’s heartache and not understand why he is keeping his distance, I was afraid I was going to need a box of tissues! Thankfully, I didn’t need the tissues, and I got all the warm and fuzzies instead!
My one and only qualm with the book is editing errors. Thankfully they were few and far between, and not enough to dampen my enjoyment at reading. But, it’s my pet peeve, so I have to mention it.
Enchanted by Love, like it’s predecessors, is a simple, sweet, easy, escape read. If you enjoy romance novels, and happily ever after endings, then do yourself a favor and take a trip to Blossom Hills! You won’t be sorry!
