Review: A Taste of Sweetness
A Taste of Sweetness
Kate Alexander
Synopsis: After a string of bad relationships, aspiring baker, Zoey, takes a chance on following her dreams and moves to the small town of Blossom Hills to open her own bakery and start over.
What’s not to love about a romantic comedy? A Taste of Sweetness has everything you need for a good one! The swoon worthy love story, redemption, humor, some suspense– everything I love. I absolutely tore through this book! I had a very hard time pulling myself away from it.
It’s somewhat predictable, but in a good way. Sometimes (I think particularly with romance), you don’t really want a surprise twist. We want the escape, the comfort of it. I honestly didn’t mind the predictability of it in the least.
There was one thing that did bother me while reading: I found several editing errors. That’s kind of a pet peeve. Beyond that, I have no complaints!
A Taste of Sweetness is the perfect escape read. It’s not overly sappy, but gives you those butterflies that remind you of what it’s like when you first fall in love. There is also a couple of steamy scenes that toe the line between PG-13 and R, and are sure to make you blush a little bit! But the characters are colorful and relatable. I swooned, I laughed out loud, and I fell in love with the story and the characters. What can I say? I’m a big sap at heart!
I am genuinely looking forward to the next installment of this series, which will be released in September. So watch for the review, and in the meantime, be sure to check out A Taste of Sweetness by Kate Alexander! My only regret is that I wasn’t sitting on a sunny beach while I was reading it!
